Delete your data

You can ask us at any time to delete your Water App account and the personal information we hold about you. There are two ways to do it.

Option 1: inside the app (fastest)

1. Sign in to The Water App.
2. Open your Profile and go to Security & your data (POPIA).
3. Press Request account & data deletion and confirm.

You can also press Download my data there first if you want a copy.

Option 2: by email

Write to admin@thechemistrysolutionscompany.com with the subject Delete my Water App data. Send it from the email address on your account (or tell us which address it is), so we can find your account and know the request is yours. We may ask you to confirm before we delete anything.

If you cannot sign in, or you only sent an application through the “Work with us” page, use this option and give us the email address and the application reference (it starts with WA-) if you have it.

What happens next

• We confirm by email when your request has been received and again when it is done.
• We delete your account and the personal information linked to it, such as your profile, the tests and reports you saved, and any applications you sent us.
• Some information we must keep by law, for example tax invoices and accounting records. We keep only that, and only for as long as the law requires.
• Deleting your account cannot be undone once it has been processed.

Signed in with Google or Facebook?

The process is the same: use the email address on your Water App account. Deleting your data with us does not remove anything at Google or Facebook. To stop the app from receiving your name and email in future, remove The Water App from the apps connected to your Google account, or from Settings & privacy › Settings › Apps and websites on Facebook.
