Description
In the hospitality industry, guest safety is your greatest luxury. Whether you run a boutique hotel, a high-end restaurant, or a top-rated Airbnb, providing premium water is no longer optional. The “Hospitality Hygiene” Certificate is a specialized diagnostic audit for The “Hospitality Hygiene” Certificate (including guest drinking water, ice machines, coffee stations, and kitchen mains).
The “Safety Badge” & QR Code – Our killer feature: Upon successful clearance, we provide a Safety Badge and a verified QR Code for your front window or digital guest book. This gives your guests instant, 48-hour verified proof that your water and ice are safer than standard tap water, providing ultimate peace of mind.
What’s tested
Biological (The “Guest Trust” Check)
-
Total Coliform & E. coli: Qualitative analysis (48-hr incubation). This is the core of your certification, ensuring your lines are free from the bacteria that cause foodborne illness.
Physical (The “Sensory” Suite)
-
pH & TDS: Ensures the “mouthfeel” of the water is balanced—neither too acidic nor overly mineralized.
-
Electrical Conductivity (EC) & Salinity: Measures the purity of the water to ensure crystal-clear ice and perfect coffee extraction.
-
ORP & Specific Gravity (S.G.): Indicators of the water’s chemical hygiene and “freshness” profile.
Chemical (The “Equipment & Purity” Suite)
-
The Clarity Markers: Iron, Manganese, and Zinc (to prevent metallic tastes or unsightly staining in sinks and toilets).
-
The “Toxic-Free” Screen: Lead, Mercury, Chromium, Aluminium, and Copper.
-
Sanitization Verification: Free/Total Chlorine and Bromine (to ensure your filtration system is working without leaving a “chemical” smell).
-
Environmental Safety: Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia, Phosphate, Potassium, Sulfate, and Fluoride.
-
The Scale Guard: Total Hardness, Alkalinity, Carbonate Root, and Cyanuric Acid (protecting your expensive espresso machines and dishwashers).
Is this the right test for you?
This certification is essential for:
-
Airbnb & Guest House Hosts: You want to provide a “Safety Badge” to set your listing apart and justify premium pricing.
-
Restaurant & Café Owners: You need to ensure your ice machines and coffee water are of the highest chemical purity to protect your equipment and your flavors.
-
Off-Grid Hospitality: You are using The “Hospitality Hygiene” Certificate (such as a borehole or spring) and need to prove it meets health standards for guests.
-
Plumbing System Audits: You suspect old pipes might be leaching metals or harboring biofilm that could affect guest health.
How it works
How it Works – What’s needed from you?
1. Prepare Your Sample Collect 1L of the water sample in a sterile container.
-
The “Guest-Point” Rule: Collect the water from the exact tap or dispenser your guests use (e.g., the bar tap or the ice machine feed).
-
Safety: Do not rinse the bottle. Ensure the cap is sealed immediately to maintain the “48-hour clearance” integrity.
2. Complete the Sample Information Card Include the following data for your certificate:
-
Business Info: Trading name (as it should appear on the badge), contact person, and email.
-
Collection Data: Date and time of collection (this defines your “Recent Clearance” date).
-
Water Source: Specify (e.g., “Main Kitchen Tap,” “Ice Machine Line,” or “Guest Suite 1”).
-
Current Filtration: Note if you use Reverse Osmosis, Carbon, or UV filters.
3. Shipping & Logistics
-
Courier Service: Notify us once the sample is secured; we will dispatch a courier for collection (unless prepaid).
-
The “Cold Chain”: To ensure your “Safety Badge” is based on accurate biological data, maintain a temperature of 2°C to 8°C during transit (please use refrigeration items (e.g., frozen gel packs)). Many chemicals and biological markers are temperature-sensitive. For example, Nitrates and bacteria “die off” or change in high heat.
